Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! So, I owe anyone who reads this thing regularly an apology. I have been such a slacker with posting lately! My excuse is that I have been working on re-doing/updating my graphic design portfolio so that I can do some freelance design on the side. It’s coming along, but working on that plus working full-time, plus trying to spend any spare time enjoying summer has led to a very sad blog. But things should pick up around here very soon. For today, here are some links for your weekend. I hope you have a lovely one!

I’m dying to try this Homemade Blackberry Frozen Yogurt. It looks healthy and yummy!

Also wanting to try Grady’s Cold Brew Coffee. I have been cold brewing my own coffee for awhile now because it makes iced coffee so much better (less bitter than coffee that is brewed with heat). But it’s kind of a long process, so it would be nice to try this. Not to mention, have you seen the packaging? Hello, I’m sold.

Did you hear about the fireworks mishap that happened in San Diego? All of the fireworks went off at once, accidentally. What was going to be a 17 minute show lasted less than 30 seconds. Either a disappointment, or the world’s coolest explosion. Watch the video here.

Love this collage. It makes me want to make some art- something I haven’t done in too long!

How cute is this bride with the yellow cardigan? A bright cardigan is such a cute add-on for your wedding day!

This is how I feel whenever I buy flowers and peonies aren’t in season (so most of the year).

I love these Essie blue nail polish shades. Generally the color blue on my nails does not seem attractive, but these shades have changed my mid. Might have to pick up the “Smooth Sailing” color.

Anthropologie is have an extra 25% off their sale items until Sunday. I may have bought myself an early birthday present (Yes, I buy myself birthday presents. I also have “birthday week.” Don’t hate).

My sister got engaged on the fourth of July! So happy for them.

That is all. Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Any fun weekend plans? Tonight I have a girls night, and tomorrow I’m going to San Diego- woo hoo! My family is going to celebrate the graduation of my cousin from grad school, but my mom and I also have turned it into a mini-vacation of sorts. I can’t wait! Let’s hope the June gloom stays away.

In Gabby’s guest post she talked about doing the things we tend to put off. On my list right now, the main thing is working on re-doing my design portfolio. I’ve always planned on doing some freelance design on the side, but it hasn’t really been a priority. But lately I’ve been inspired to make it happen by re-designing my portfolio! I was never really fully satisfied with the one I did in school. And I’ve been feeling very productive as of late (let’s hope that sticks around!). So here’s to doing the things we keep putting off (insert virtual champagne toast here)! What’s on your list that you keep putting off?

There’s a new twist on my guest column over at thatnoisegallery. Don’t forget to check it out!

I have a strange thing for gold scissors. These, from Manor Finewares, are lovely.

Any special Father’s Day plans? Here are some great, free Father’s Day printables.

How peaceful would it be to have a pool that resembles a pond/lake like this one? I could swing there for hours.

I really wish this blush pink bikini weren’t so expensive- it is so cute!

These bottles of Rosemary-infused olive oil would make perfect favors, housewarming gifts, or hostess gifts. You could make a batch of them all at once and be prepared for any occasion.

I must try these: Peach, Basil, and Brie French bread pizzas.

I just love Jennifer Lawrence’s bangs here- the messy chic look is so great for summer.

I’m really wishing that I could remember where I left my last jean jacket. I haven’t used it in ages, but they are definitely in for the summer. They’re so versatile too-  you can pair it with a summer dress, shorts and a tee, you name it. Here’s one I like (Don’t make fun of me- yes, I still shop in the juniors section at Nordstrom). Madewell makes a good one too.

Have a lovely weekend!

Ever heard of S’meaches? Me neither til this cute video tutorial. They look so good! Gotta try these over the bonfire sometime soon. Video by Claire Thomas from The Kitchy Kitchen

Today a friend shared Darling Magazine with me, and I love it! It’s about time there be a quality, well-designed magazine with uplifting and encouraging content that encourages “expanding knowledge of spirituality and living a life connected to God in order to live well and love others.” Darling Magazine is set on redefining femininity; challenging unrealistic ideals women are held to, and providing deeper wisdom and advice to women who long for more in life.To read more about it, click here. Watch the video about the project here. Way to empower women!

15 Ways To Stay Married For 15 Years. My favorites were 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 14.

I am very picky about the cards I get for people. They have to be perfect. Which makes for a long time standing in the card aisle, not being able to make up my mind. Or what I sometimes do is order cards online ahead of time so I have some good ones in stock. Sugar Paper has some really cute ones!

Did you know this is the best way to store asparagus? This way helps them last up to two weeks!

Oh Kate. I adore your style. Too bad we can’t be real life friends. I bet that would have it’s perks…

Gorgeous flower chandelier. Hmmm, how can I DIY this?

Make these strawberry ice cubes for a party.

Have a lovely weekend! Relax, spend time with your loved ones, and do a random act of kindness.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend- anything fun? I am hosting a Mother’s Day dinner this weekend for my beloved mother and aunts. I will try to take some pics to post next week. Here are a few fun links for your weekend…

Be sure to stop by That Noise Gallery and see my guest post about “ikat.”

Has anyone tried these Kate Somerville Face tanning towlettes? I think I’d like to try them. I’ve heard they work great.

I’ve been getting the urge to paint lately. I have some huge canvases I got on sale when our local art store went out of business, and I’d love to paint something like one of these, by Kristy Gammill. I love her work!

I got bangs. Still deciding if they work for me. I guess it doesn’t matter, since I’m stuck with them. I think I like them. Take a look.

Speaking of hair, how cute is this look?

I really need a good pair of wedges like these. However I got some really cute, inexpensive sandals from Old Navy- they have a good selection!

I think I need to make this Potato Rosemary Galette. Looks and sounds yummy!

Here’s a healthy, yummy dessert/snack.

Exquisite Weddings Magazine (one of my college internships was there) did a post on healthy appetizers. Which one would you most like to try? The wrapped mango bites look fancy schmancy.

DIY project that I’d like to someday accomplish? This recycled wine bottle hat rack- so clever and eco friendly!

The May/June issue of Rue, online magazine is out. I love looking through the pages- check it out!

I went ahead and got us some cooler bedding for summer- I normally sleep with a THICK down comforter, which does not cut it for the hubs. IKEA has some great options- I got the EMMIE LAND Duvet which has a blue toile pattern. So affordable too!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday people! Don’t forget to check out my guest post over at thatnoisegallery on making things sparkle and shine. Today I thought I’d share a few things I came across online.

This wax of this candle, which is made of natural fragrances, actually turns into a moisturizer. Relaxing for both the mind and the body.

How cute are these macaroon trinkets to hold jewelry or whatever little goodies you have?! They would make such a great gift or favor too. The are currently out of stock, but once they’re back, I’m getting one! And they go along with our French Friday post from today. Mmmm I love dessert…

Party popcorn? Yes please. Fun to eat and look at, for any get together.

Looking for a good Gospel-centered book on marriage? Here are ten. If you read one let me know what you think of it!

Is anyone else there an iced coffee addict like I am? I think I’m going to try to find the perfect recipe for a good, homemade iced coffee so I don’t end up spending so much money on iced coffee this summer. I hear the secret is to cold-brew the coffee. Anyone have any good secrets or recipes they’d like to share? Here are 6 different iced coffee recipes to try.

Did anyone else enter the “Pin It To Win It” contest by Kate Spade NY to win a custom vespa? The idea was to create a board inspired by where you would go with your vespa if you won it. Here’s mine!

How neat is this room? I would love to have a giant photograph wall someday.

I love raw, natural looking jewelry. This is a fabulous ring.

Must try this recipe. Creamy White Chicken And Artichoke Lasagna.

Planning a party anytime soon? Or just like pretty stationary? Here are some free DIY envelope liners.

This downtown sequined collar would be a great way to add a little pizazz to an outfit.

Well, I think that’s enough links for one day. I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? I will be having brunch with some friends from college that I haven’t seen in FAR too long. That will be lovely. Also homework, which is not quite as fun. But maybe with an iced vanilla latte and a comfy chair it won’t be so bad.

Don’t forget to check out my “Inspired By” guest post over at thatnoisegallery. Have a good weekend!

Santa Monica

Good morning and happy Friday! It is a beautiful day here in Los Angeles- supposed to be a high of 85 degrees. So my man and I are going to spend the afternoon and evening in Santa Monica, just exploring and enjoying this nice weather. I sometimes forget that we have so many places close to us that people travel across the country just to vacation at. We both love Santa Monica- walking down the pier, riding the Ferris Wheel (I strangely enjoy it even though I have a fear of heights, I think because the seats aren’t so small), strolling down the promenade checking out the shops and seeing the street performers.

We are also going to eat at a place in Venice recommended by one of my favorite bloggers, Bri of Design Love Fest. Wurstküche is an exotic sausage grill that has all sorts of exotic sausage sandwiches, belgian fries, and imported beers. If I’m feeling adventurous I might branch out and try the Rattlesnake!

What are your plans for the weekend? Whether you have to study, work, or hopefully play, I hope you have a great one!
